Out & About: Real Life Skills

Take your training beyond the classroom and into the real world!

Out & About is designed for dogs who already have some basic skills and are ready to practice them in realistic, everyday environments. Each class takes place out in the community, where dogs and their people can build confidence and learn how to use their training around real-life distractions.

We’ll work on practical skills such as loose-leash walking, checking in with you, settling in public, polite greetings, passing people and dogs, navigating busy environments, recalls, stays, and making good choices when exciting things are happening around them.

The focus isn’t on perfect obedience—it’s on helping you and your dog communicate, work together, and feel successful in the situations you actually encounter in daily life.

Because locations and distractions will vary from week to week, every class offers a new opportunity to practice and build your dog’s skills.

Best suited for: Dogs who have completed a basic manners class or already have foundational skills such as sit, stay, recall, and loose-leash walking.

This class is not designed for dogs who are currently struggling with significant reactivity toward people or other dogs. For those dogs, one of our reactivity-focused programs may be a better fit.

Classes are on the following dates:

Wednesday October 14th @ 6:00 PM

Wednesday October 21st @ 6:00 PM

Wednesday October 28th @ 6:00 PM

Wednesday November 4th @ 6:00 PM
